Amelia Earhart was always going faster, higher and farther. Eighty-five years ago, the famed aviatrix and Atchison native had just begun on a wild string of record-setting flights. Ironically, the final decade of her life began with her making history as the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean — as a passenger. Later in 1928 she bcame the first woman to make a solo round trip flight across the United States. Each year, the Atchison community and thousands of visitors celebrate Earhart’s pioneering spirit with two days of music, food, education, aerobatic performances and much more. Join us for an adventure!
