In an effort to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus, Atchison County has issued a “shelter at home” order, allowing only businesses that offer essential services to remain open until April 25th.
Below, you can find a summary of types of businesses that will be allowed to operate during this time, as enumerated in the order.
Chamber of Commerce staff will continue working from home to ensure the continued support of our members.
–Healthcare services, essential infrastructure, and essential government
-Grocery stores and other establishments engaged in the retail sale of fresh food, canned food, dry goods, and household consumer products. See order for full detail.
-Human and animal food processing
-Businesses that provide food, shelter, social services, and other necessities of life for the economically disadvantaged.
-Newspapers, television, radio, and other media services
-Gas stations, auto repair and servicing, and emergency road services
-Banks and related financial institution
-Service providers who provide services that are necessary to maintaining the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences and essential businesses.
-Businesses that provide shipping
-Laundromats, dry cleaners, and laundry service providers
-Restaurants and other facilities that prepare and serve food and/or beverages, but only for delivery or carry out. You can find a collection of all local take-out menus from the City here.
-Businesses that supply products and services needed for people to work from home and/or to support/supply other essential businesses.
-Businesses that ship/deliver food, beverages, goods, or services directly residences
-Transportation services necessary for essential activities.
-Heme-based care for seniors, adults, or children
-Residential facilities and shelters for seniors, adults, or children.
-Professional services, such as legal, accounting, real estate, and insurance services.
-Child facilities providing services that enable employees exempted in the Order to work as permitted. See order for full detail.
-Mortuary, cremation, and burial services
-Hotels and motels, to the extent used for lodging and delivery or carry-out food services.
-Manufacturing companies, distributors, and supply chain companies producing and supplying essential products and services in and for residences and essential industries/businesses. See order for full detail.
