The Atchison Area Chamber of Commerce strives to serve every segment of the Atchison community, including its students. On Wednesday, Oct. 21, the Workforce Development Council will host a Career Fair, which will give area students a glimpse at a cross-section of career opportunities. Atchison area businesses, with their wide array of skills, products and careers, can give those students a glimpse of what is available to them right here at home. The Chamber would like you and your business to participate in this exciting event. The businesses in our area are the best examples of career possibilities for our youth, whether they are involved in retail, manufacturing, technology, education, or the many other careers represented in the Midwest. In addition to informational booths provided by area businesses, the Chamber will welcome Ryan Porter as the event’s keynote speaker. Ryan’s presentation, entitled “Make Your Own Lunch,” is all about deciding to create the life you “crave.” Is it going to a university? Owning your own business? Traveling around the world? Or all three? Through his hilarious stories of adventures, Ryan will give our youth the “ingredients” needed to make the exact life you want to live while giving you a bunch of laughs along the way. Please take time to fill out the bottom portion of this letter and return it to Jane at the Chamber office or email to projects@atchisonkansas.net as soon as possible. The Career Fair will be held at Atchison High School. Set-up time is 7:30 a.m. and booths may be dismantled at noon. There is no charge for Chamber members to participate. It is $100 for non-members. Thank you in advance for your support and participation. Sincerely, Atchison Area Chamber of Commerce
