Amelia Earhart Festival – July 18-19, 2014

The spirit of legendary aviatrix Amelia Earhart is alive and well in Atchison! Each summer the community pulls out all the stops in honor of its favorite daughter, complete with a downtown music, food and crafts fair, star-filled outdoor concert, children’s activities, carnival, awards and honors, Earhart research and literature, music on the beautiful Riverfront, aerobatic performances and the grandest of all finalés — the “Concert in the Sky” fireworks show. Kansas City Catfish
Atchison Tournament – Sept. 21, 2014

Join us for the grand finale of the Kansas City Catfish Series!  Atchison will host the series
championship as anglers from across the region search the Missouri River for giant cats.
Tournament scheduled to run from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., with weigh-in immediately following
the conclusion of fishing.  Fun activities, food and excitement for the whole family!

Taste of Atchison – Sept. 18, 2014

A sampling of everything Atchison has to offer, from the cuisine of the area to items from
our many unique shops, and a photography contest to let people see just how stunning the

Oktoberfest – Oct. 4, 2014

31st annual Oktoberfest will be held Oct. 6,  sponsored by Junior Guild, with more than 100
arts & crafts vendors, plus German foods and music along the city’s Commercial Street Mall.   Held
