The Leadership Development Council provides a forum for the
development of new emerging leaders. Leadership Atchison County
has been in existence since 1995. In 2004, and with the assistance
of the Kansas Health Foundation, the council shifted its focus
from a community awareness-based program to that of a skills
development program.
In 2004, twenty-one participants in two different sessions graduated after attending sessions twice
monthly, and learning capacities to help
develop their leadership skills.
The course
guides participants as they develop skills applicable to their
life at work, home, church and in other community organizations
with which they are involved. Leadership skills taught include:

Working, thinking, and Learning Styles
Applying learning styles at home, in the workplace, and in other
organizations
