The Chamber has a myriad of councils and committees whose mission is to create a better community in which to work, live, and raise a family. You can make a difference by becoming a member of a council or committee.

AMBASSADORS
The Ambassadors are representatives of the Chamber at every function, from ribbon cuttings to social events. They help as volunteers and take the Chamber's message to the community. Ambassadors meet the fourth Wednesday of each month at noon.

Beautification Council
The Beautification Council plans the Spring and Fall Clean-up events — the Chamber's most visible community service projects — as well as other activities they decide upon. Meetings are held as needed.

Leadership Development Council
The Leadership Development Council plans and executes the Leadership Atchison County program in a partnership with Benedictine College. They also plan Youth Leadership activities for middle and high school students in the area. The council meets the second Tuesday of each month at noon.

Tourism Council
The Tourism Council is active in the planning and organization of tourism activities for the Atchison area. This includes long-range planning as well as hands-on assistance with current activities. The council meets the third Thursday of each month at 8:30 a.m.

Workforce Development Council
The Workforce Development Council is instrumental in providing educational programming for Atchison's employers and employees by sponsoring Round Table discussions and meetings. They also sponsor a Youth Career Fair for Atchison County junior and senior students annually. The council meets the third Tuesday of each month.

Standing Committees
The Chamber has a number of committees whose duties range from single event organization to longstanding groups that include entire sectors of the Atchison business community. Aside from the Retail Committee, which meets monthly and includes all interested Chamber members in the retail sector, committees meet seasonally and are called by the Chair or Chamber President.

Some of the committees include: Retail, Golf Classic, Annual Banquet, A Taste of Atchison, Art Walk and Haunted Atchison.
